AYER — Nashoba Valley Medical Center’s Center for Weight Control is offering two free programs to assist with weight loss.
Information sessions on Optifast, a medically monitored weight-loss program in which the typical patient loses more than 50 pounds in just 18 to 24 weeks, are planned for Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 10 a.m., or Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 4:30 p.m., in the Ambulatory Wing Conference Room 109. Visit www.nashobamed.org/ events, or call 978-784-9313.
Two sessions are also scheduled for a free Surgical Weight Loss Information Seminar, on Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 6 p.m., and Tuesday, Aug. 22, at noon. If you have a significant amount of weight you would like to lose, and a body-mass index of greater than 40, or a BMI of 35 or greater with such related medical conditions as diabetes, high-blood pressure and sleep apnea, you may be a candidate for weight-loss surgery. The seminars will be held at the center’s Conference Room B. Call 978-862-5673 to register, or visit www.nashoba med.org/events.
