The Center for Medical Weight Loss at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center recently announced the addition of Sathyavani Prabhakar and Keren Wilson to its growing staff.
“Sathyavani Prabhakar and Keren Wilson are exceptional physicians who bring to us nearly 30 combined years of dedicated, hands-on experience in medical weight management,” said Amanda Powell, medical director for the Center for Medical Weight Loss at LHMC. “Both are truly dedicated to the patients they work with every day, and bring unique skill sets that will enhance our ability to help our patients. They will be welcome additions to our practice and the Burlington community.”
Prabhakar is a patient-focused physician with professional interest in comprehensive diabetes, weight and nutrition management. She a clinical background in diabetes and related complications.
Prior to joining the Center for Medical Weight Loss, Prabhakar spent seven years as a practicing endocrinologist at the Wheaton Franciscan Medical Group in Racine, Wisconsin, in addition to spending two years as an attending endocrinologist at the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center of Western New York in Buffalo, New York.
Prabhakar received her degree in medicine from Stanley Medical College and Hospital in Chennai, India, and completed an internal medicine residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Program in Jersey City, New Jersey. She also completed a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at the State University of New York, Buffalo. She is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, and is an active member of both the American Diabetes Association and the Endocrine Society.
Keren Wilson joins the Medical Weight Loss Center from the weight management program at Winchester Hospital, where she served as its medical director.
She has extensive experience in designing plans to help stop food cravings, as well as managing pre- and post-operative weight loss. Additionally her clinical interests include obesity medicine, adolescent medicine and women’s health.
Wilson received her medical degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California, and completed her residency at the University of Illinois-Chicago/ Illinois Masonic Family Practice Residency program.
She is board certified in both family medicine and obesity medicine, and serves as a clinical instructor for third- and fourth-year medical students at the Tufts University School of Medicine. She is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
