In love with the shape of you! Ed Sheeran is a two-time Grammy winner, besties with the likes of Justin Bieber and Harry Styles, and now, he’s adding an impressive amount of weight loss to his repertoire. The “Shape of You” singer recently lost 50 pounds after ditching his on-tour eating habits, committing to regular exercise sessions, and of course, putting down the junk food.
After months spent on the road, Ed quickly realized that what a pop sensation can get away with while burning loads of calories touring isn’t exactly sustainable when you’re at home. The “Castle on the Hill” crooner took a year-long hiatus from the industry before coming back with his latest album, ÷, a break he admits drastically changed his body.

“I doubled in size,” he told radio’s The Breakfast Club. “Sweatpants were the only things that fit and I thought everything had shrunk in the wash, but it hadn’t.”
As for his self-proclaimed “ballooning,” Taylor Swift’s BFF blames two likely sources: pizza and beer. “My diet was pizza and beer but because I was doing two hours a night, I was really in shape,” the 26-year-old told Life & Style. “I stopped touring and carried on my diet of pizza and beer. Suddenly, I didn’t fit in anything.”
He continued, “Well, I’m back on beer now, because I’m fine, but I cut out beer for a bit and started exercising which was quite weird. I didn’t realize how much I burned on stage. I stopped touring and I just ballooned instantly.”
Aside from putting his unhealthy obsessions on hold, Ed also committed to daily 10-minute hardcore interval workouts. It’s definitely working for him!
