A pipe burst Sunday at the Kernersville VA Healthcare Center at 1695 Kernersville Medical Parkway, which is part of the VA Salisbury Healthcare System.
A water leak then set off a fire alarm in the building, which the VA leases, said Marlous Black, a spokeswoman for the Kernersville VA Healthcare Center.
“The (local) fire department responded and was able to cut the water off,” Black said.
“As far as the VA, we moved equipment and everything to another area.”
She also said, “Patient access has not been affected.”
Black said she has been told that “aggressive restoration efforts are in progress.”
