A forum on health care originally planned in response to a dispute between Anne Arundel Medical Center and insurer Care First is still on for Sunday, with the goal now being to empower citizens so they can better advocate for their health needs in the future.
The event, called Patients Losing Patience, is being held by Anne Arundel Indivisible Healthcare Coalition at 3 p.m. at the Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center in Annapolis.
The forum will open with a presentation “on the history of health care in the U.S., the status of health care in the nation today, its successes and shortcomings and possible policy solutions,” organizers said in an email
The panel of speakers includes gubernatorial candidate Ben Jealous, Maryland chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program co-chairs Margaret Flowers and Eric Naumburg, co-chair of Take Action AAC Eve Hurwitz, congressional candidate Thereasa Black and hemophilia patient advocate Chrissy Holt.
